Such
love, pure as the whitest snow;
such love
weeps for the shame I know;
such love,
paying the debt I owe;
O Jesus,
such love.
2. Such
love, stilling my restlessness;
such love,
filling my emptiness;
such love,
showing me holiness;
O Jesus,
such love.
3. Such
love springs from eternity;
such love
streaming through history;
such love,
fountain of life to me;
O Jesus,
such love.

There’s
a wideness in God’s mercy,
like the
wideness of the sea;
there’s a
kindness in his justice,
which is
more than liberty.
2. There is
no place where earth’s sorrows
are more
keenly felt than heaven;
there is no
place where earth’s failings
have such
gracious judgement given.
3. There is
plentiful redemption
through the
blood that Christ has shed;
there is
joy for all the members
in the
sorrows of the head.
4. For the
love of God is broader
than the
measure of our mind;
and the
heart of the eternal
is most
wonderfully kind.
5. If our
love were but more simple,
we should
take him at His word,
and our
lives would be illumined
by the
presence of the Lord.
SG 188 Frederick William Faber 1814-63
God’s
love, is the best love,
that the
world has ever, ever known.
Deeper than
the deep sea
is the love
that God above has shown.
Higher than
the rockets up in space,
wider than
the total human race.
God’s love,
is the best love,
that the
world has ever, ever,
can ever,
ever,
will ever,
ever know.
You’re
the Word of God the Father,
From before
the world began;
Every star
and every planet
Has been
fashioned by Your hand.
All
creation holds together
By the
power of Your voice:
Let the
skies declare Your glory,
Let the
land and seas rejoice.
You’re the
Author of creation,
You’re the
Lord of every man;
And Your
cry of love rings out
Across the
lands.
2. Yet You
left the gaze of angels,
Came to
seek and save the lost,
And
exchanged the joy of heaven
For the
anguish of the cross.
With a
prayer You fed the hungry,
With a word
You stilled the sea;
Yet how
silently You suffered
That the
guilty may go free.
You’re the
Author of creation,
You’re the
Lord of every man;
And Your
cry of love rings out
Across the
lands.
3. With a
shout You rose victorious,
Wrestling
victory from the grave,
And
ascended into heaven
Leading
captives in Your wake.
Now You
stand before the Father
Interceding
for Your own.
From each
tribe and tongue and nation
You are
leading sinners home.
You’re the
Author of creation,
You’re the
Lord of every man;
And Your
cry of love rings out
Across the
lands.

Through
the love of God, our Saviour,
all will be
well.
Free and
changeless is his favour;
all, all is
well.
Precious is
the blood that healed us,
perfect is
the grace that sealed us,
strong the
hand stretched forth to shield us;
all must be
well.
2. Though
we pass through tribulation,
all will be
well.
Ours is
such a full salvation,
all, all is
well.
Happy still
in God confiding,
fruitful,
if in Christ abiding,
holy,
through the Spirit’s guiding;
all must be
well.
3. We
expect a bright to-morrow;
all will be
well.
Faith can
sing through days of sorrow,
‘All, all
is well.’
On our
Father’s love relying,
Jesus every
need supplying,
in our
living, in our dying,
all must be
well.
CH4 562 Mary Peters (1813–56)
Your eye
is on the sparrow
and your
hand, it comforts me.
From the
ends of the earth
to the
depths of my heart,
let your
mercy and strength be seen.
You call me
to your purpose,
as angels
understand.
For your
glory may you draw all men,
as your
love and grace demands.
And I will
run to you, to your words of truth;
not by
might, not by power
but by the
Spirit of God.
Yes, I will
run the race, ‘till I see your face.
Oh, let me
live in the glory of your grace.

Here is
love vast as the ocean,
loving
kindness as the flood,
when the
Prince of life, our ransom,
shed for us
his precious blood.
Who his
love will not remember?
Who can
cease to sing his praise?
He can
never be forgotten
throughout
heaven’s eternal days.
2. On the
mount of crucifixion
fountains
opened deep and wide;
through the
floodgates of God’s mercy
flowed a
vast and gracious tide.
Grace and
love, like mighty rivers,
poured
incessant from above;
and
heaven’s peace and perfect justice
kissed a
guilty world in love.
3. Through
the years of human darkness,
shone the
lamp the prophets trimmed,
making
known redemption’s story,
of the love
of God undimmed.
Christ for
every tongue and nation!
All must
come beneath his sway;
his the
everlasting kingdom
that shall
never pass away.
4. When the
stars shall fall from heaven,
and the sun
turn black as night,
when the
skies recede and vanish,
and the
elements ignite:
Then the
Son of Man in glory,
coming as
the Morning Star,
shall
return to claim his loved ones,
gathered in
from near and far.

From the
squalor of a borrowed stable
by the
Spirit and a virgin’s faith:
to the
anguish and the shame of scandal
came the
Saviour of the human race!
But the
skies were filled
with the
praise of heaven,
shepherds
listen as the angels tell
of the gift
of God come down to man
at the
dawning of Immanuel.
2. King of
heaven now the friend of sinners,
humble
servant in the Father’s hands,
filled with
power and the Holy Spirit,
filled with
mercy for the broken man.
Yes, he
walked my road and he felt my pain,
joys and
sorrows that I know so well:
yet his
righteous steps give me hope again –
I will
follow my Immanuel!
3. Through
the kisses of a friend’s betrayal,
he was
lifted on a cruel cross:
he was
punished for a world’s transgressions,
he was
suffering to save the lost.
He fights
for breath, he fights for me,
loosing
sinners from the claims of hell;
and with a
shout our souls are free –
death
defeated by Immanuel!
4. Now he’s
standing in the place of honour,
crowned
with glory on the highest throne,
interceding
for his own beloved
till his
Father calls to bring them home!
Then the
skies will part as the trumpet sounds
hope of
heaven or the fear of hell;
but the
bride will run to her lover’s arms,
giving
glory to Immanuel!

Lord, I
come to you
let my
heart be changed, renewed,
flowing
from the grace that I found in you.
And Lord,
I've come to know
the
weaknesses I see in me
will be
stripped away
by the
power of your love.
Hold me
close,
let your
love surround me.
Bring me
near, draw me to your side.
And as I
wait I'll rise up like the eagle,
and I
will soar with you,
your
Spirit leads me on
in the
power of your love.
2. Lord,
unveil my eyes,
let me see
you face to face,
the
knowledge of your love
as you live
in me.
Lord, renew
my mind
as your
will unfolds in my life,
in living
every day in the power of your love.
Hold me
close,
let your
love surround me.
Bring me
near, draw me to your side.
And as I
wait I'll rise up like the eagle,
and I
will soar with you,
your
Spirit leads me on
in the
power of your love.

May the
mind of Christ my Saviour
live in me
from day to day,
by His love
and power controlling
all I do
and say.
2. May the
word of God dwell richly
in my heart
from hour to hour,
so that all
may see I triumph
only
through His power.
3. May the
peace of God my Father
in my life
in everything,
that I may
be calm to comfort
sick and
sorrowing.
4. May the
love of Jesus fill me,
as the
waters fill the sea;
Him
exalting, self abasing,
this is
victory.
5. May I
run the race before me,
strong and
brave to face the foe,
looking
only unto Jesus,
as I onward
go.

Lord of
creation, to You be all praise!
Most mighty
Your working, most wondrous Your ways!
Your glory
and might are beyond us to tell,
and yet in
the heart of the humble You dwell.
2. Lord of
all power, I give You my will,
in joyful
obedience Your tasks to fulfil,
Your
bondage is freedom, Your service is song,
and, held
in Your keeping, my weakness is strong.
3. Lord of
all wisdom, I give You my mind,
rich truth
that surpasses man’s knowledge to find;
what eye
has not seen and what ear has not heard
is taught
by Your Spirit and shines from Your word.
4. Lord of
all bounty, I give You my heart;
I praise
and adore You for all You impart,
Your love
to inspire me, Your counsel to guide,
Your
presence to cheer me, whatever betide.
5. Lord of
all being, I give You my all;
for if I
disown You I stumble and fall;
but, sworn
in glad service Your word to obey,
I walk in
Your freedom to the end of the way.
